for albums i generally like, i think it’s a good idea to keep songs that i don’t like to keep the album complete. if i don’t like an entire album, or only like one or two songs, then i usually delete the rest.

hard drive space is cheap and i’m not missing out on anything and it’s not costing me anything to keep a song that i don’t care for… especially if you paid for the album.

Great example of how rating songs opens you up to UNrated music. I’m a huge proponent of rating songs and my system is similar to yours. I’ve bookmarked your site, thanks for the tip(s).

Ohhh, good tip! I already trick out a few smart playlists by importing from other smart playlists etc. It’s good to know I can do that with Genius playlists as well. Also good, since from what I understand, Genius playlists won’t sync to older iPods, and I have a 5th Gen 80gig Ipod.
