Rob Dickinson’s Solo Album to Get Vinyl Release For RSD

Catherine Wheel singer, Rob Dickinson, released a solo album Fresh Wine For The Horses in 2005.

It’s getting its first vinyl release for Record Store Day Black Friday 2021.

I find this surprising because I didn’t think the original reception was strong enough to have enough interest to warrant a vinyl release, now 16 years later. Especially when Catherine Wheel’s last release, 2000’s Wishville, has yet to be reissued. (Their first 4 albums have been.)

Perhaps part of the reason why Fresh Wine For The Horses is getting some recent attention is because Billie Eilish covered End of the World in 2019.

This first-ever vinyl release adds a bunch of extras that did not appear on the original CD and a second disc with The Nude EP from the 2008 deluxe CD reissue, made up of acoustic versions of Catherine Wheel songs. The Nude EP tracks were recorded at The Nook in Studio City, CA.

Packaged in a gatefold jacket and pressed in red and yellow “seahorse” vinyl, limited to 2000 copies worldwide.
