Proper Records has pre-orders up for Catherine Wheel’s first 3 albums, Ferment, Chrome and Happy Days.
The have a listed release date of August 18, 2023.
I’m curious if Chrome will have the original cover or will follow the 2017 reissue and use the image from the 1993 CDs, which was different from the original vinyl release.
The original 1993 UK record cover is on the left, above, and the 2017 MOV reissue on the right. Can you spot the difference?
Note: 2023.09.29 – We’ve ordered 2 copies of this press of Chrome, from 2 different stores, and 1 of Ferment and all 3 have manufacturing defects. There are tiny scratches on every single record that reveal themselves under a bright light and are definitely audible. Unless Proper Records does a repress to fix this, we can’t recommend this version unless perhaps you get it for an incredibly low price, like under $15-20. Others are reporting the same problem here.
